Description: On Wednesday, August 10th at 10am, at Osterville Village Library, Larry Tye presents his biography of Robert F. Kennedy, the former attorney general, U.S. senator, and presidential candidate. Bobby Kennedy: The Making of a Liberal Icon, “explores RFK’s extraordinary transformation from cold warrior to fiery leftist.” Tye draws on unpublished memoirs, unreleased government files, and other previously inaccessible papers, as well as interviews with Bobby’s widow, Ethel, his sister Jean, and his aide John Siegenthaler. This book presents a personal history of RFK, but also sheds light on American history during the 1950s and 60s.

Tye is a New York Times bestselling author. He was an award-winning reporter at The Boston Globe and runs the Boston-based Health Coverage Fellowship. Tye graduated from Brown University, was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University and taught journalism at Boston University, Northeastern, and Tufts.
