Makerspaces are “collaborative learning environments where people come together to share materials and learn new skills… born not out of a specific set of materials or spaces, but out of a mindset of community partnership, collaboration, and creation.” [Library as Incubator Project]
Public libraries are perfect homes for makerspaces, because libraries are the original ‘learning environments born out of a mindset of community partnership, collaboration and creation.’

Makerspace Kits for ages 6 and up
In our Makerspace, children ages 6 and up with parental supervision can explore their world by using hands-on STEAM kits [‘STEAM’ means STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) plus Art.]

- borrow these kits to take home for 2 weeks:

- Kits for 3-6 year olds:

On school holidays and half-days we offer a variety of hands-on "Makers Club" activities. Stay tuned to the library’s Events Calendar for details.
Parents or educators wishing to book the Makerspace for a 1-hour small-group "Makers Club" event are asked to schedule a time with the children's room staff.
